The Lazy 5 Ranch with Samantha on Memorial Day - May 26, 2008

The Lazy 5 Ranch is a privately owned exotic animal drive thru park that offers a 3.5 mile safari through the gently sloping pasturelands of Piedmont, North Carolina. While visiting at the Lazy 5 Ranch you will have the opportunity to view over 750 animals from six different continents. You can see these animals from the safety of your own car or call for reservations on our horse drawn wagons. And be sure to bring your camera. This is a drive-through experience unique in North Carolina. There is no other collection of animals like this in the Southeast. Other areas of interest at the Lazy 5 Ranch include petting areas, a black smith shop, gift store, horse barn, play ground and picnic areas.

We took Samantha up to the Lazy 5 Ranch. They are like the old Lion Country Safari you used to drive through with really wild animals but in this case it's mostly hoof stock - lots of deer, pot belly pigs, llamas, alpacas, big horned cattle from India, etc. We bought a bucket of food and Samantha hung out the window feeding the animals and getting her hands slimed. She had a ball and was so happy the animals "liked her" and came up for food. The littlest ones couldn't reach so Samantha would just dump their's on the ground. Afterward she played on the slide set they had there and then a BBQ for lunch. She was exhausted by the time she got home. She didn't have much to say when she got home but then Heather called and talked to Mike and Samantha heard her and out came all the tails of her adventure. She's ready for the next one.

Because Samantha was sitting in my lap - or standing on my seat while Mike drove I wasn't in the best position to get pictures of her so you'll catch the edge of her head, her arm out feeding the animals, etc. More regular pix of Samantha while she was on the Pirate Ship Slides.
