An Early Christmas Biltmore Trip November 15, 2009 Gorgeous Sunday but the smallest of us was down with the worst of colds so Mike, Brittany and I took off for the Biltmore. Through a series of things that just fell into place we were able to get last minute discount tickests to the evening Candle Light Tour which we hadn't done before. Because we went before Thanksgiving and had passholder discounts it really reduced the price. So off we went at noon time to the Biltmore Estate up in Asheville a little over two hours away. Arrived in time to wander through the shops and then have dinner at the Stable Cafe right by the house. Our tour started at 6:30pm and we were right on time. They had a Choir, Dancers, music and story tellers throughout the house and despite the drive home after the tour we had a grand time. Oh we also made one mistake - parking down behind the gardens where we usually park ... Turns out there are no lights in the gardens after dark so we found our way to the car with a little bit of ambient light ... No mishaps but it sure was dark!
